At the request of the interested party

The Directorate-General of Police is requested either directly or through the Immigration Offices. Opens a new window. External link. or Police Stations. In the event that the foreigner is not in Spanish territory at the time of the application, he will request the assignment of NIE to the General Commissariat of Foreigners and Borders, through the Spanish Consular Offices abroad.
